Don’t let James Bond fool you, carrying a gun while wearing a decently cut suit is a pain! Carrying while wearing  a well cut suit is almost impossible. However, there are some firearms that really fit the bill, when it comes to carrying a gun underneath your well tailored  Suit.

1. Sig Sauer P238 / P938

– The 380 or 9mm will do the trick. Both of these guns are confusingly small considering it’s based on the 1911 platform. They contain an immense amount of character considering the numerous color and material options they come in. This is the gun for those who just have to carry a 1911. The gun points and shoots well and the trigger is the best in its size class.

2. Khar P380 / PM9

– I carried the PM9 for a good period of time before the XD-s and Shields  of the world took over. The P380 is comically small, yet very capable, and the PM9 is slightly bigger, yet still very small considering. The trigger isn’t for everyone, but it is very smooth. This option becomes more interesting when you toss in their cheaper counterpart the CM9.

3. M&P Shield

– Honestly, the shield can easily be a one option carry gun. The Shield isn’t the smallest on this list, but it is small enough. It’s like having a small gun with a big gun feel. I have carried the shield in my suit quite a few times, and the Shield  absolutely does the job as a suit gun.  It is incredibly easy to shoot, the trigger is nice, and it’s profile allows for an easy carry.

4. Springfield XD-s

I don’t have much experience with the XD-s, but in short time I have spent with it,    I like it so far. It’s essentially the same size as the M&P Shield. The trigger isn’t amazing but is much better than some. For those that love extra safety features, this gun is a Safety Nazi’s wet dream. If I just had to carry a .45 with my suit, this would be the gun I would carry.

5. Ruger LCP

I owned a Ruger LCP for a period of time, and I wasn’t thrilled with it, but man whenever you wanted it to come along with you it was ready to go. The thing is tiny and simple as hell to use. You don’t have to  think, just point and shoot. I never had any reliability issues with mine, but I have heard some things here and there. Your miles may vary.

Obviously, this list isn’t exhaustive, but I feel like these guns are at the top of their class. I hear very good things about the DB9 Diamondback, but I don’t have any experience with it, so I couldn’t put it on the list. As my experience with other guns evolves so will this list, in the mean time, I’ll keep my Shield and Sig Sauer P238 close by.
