A Good Samaritan dashed to the rescue of a young Memphis woman who was assaulted by two strangers in an apparent kidnapping attempt.
The terrifying encounter happened Friday night at around 8 p.m. The would-be victim was in the parking lot of the Shops of Saddle Creek, an upscale retail location on West Farmington Boulevard in Memphis.
Surveillance video from the scene shows the two suspects grabbing the woman as she attempted to enter her dark SUV. There was a third suspect in the getaway car. She suffered “multiple minor injuries” in the assault but otherwise is lucky to be alive.
This lady was severely lucky, not only because there was a Good Samaritan there but because that Samaritan had a gun.
There were three criminals, they wouldn’t normally be worried about one guy if he was unarmed, but not only was he armed, he got the drop on them because they were so concerned about abducting this woman. If they did have guns and wanted to pull them he would likely beat them to the punch.
The woman valiantly tried to fend off her attackers, who appear to be two young men wearing dark hoodies. They apparently had been waiting in a small car parked next to her SUV and accosted her as she entered the driver’s side door.
The dramatic footage shows a brave man with a gun confronting the two alleged kidnappers, and the woman was then able to escape. Police are looking for the suspects, who fled in what is described as a silver Ford Focus, according to Fox13 Memphis.
The video was shared on Facebook Sunday along with a message to “be aware of who you are parked near.” Viewers were cautioned: “If it looks suspicious, don’t get out or avoid going back to the car! Note all the empty spaces around her car. Yet this car is right up next to her car.”
“Stay alert at all times! Thank God for (the) brave man who steps in and stops crime.”
The rescuer has not been identified, and police are still searching for three suspects.
Germantown Police Department PIO Captain Kevin Simpson told the Daily Mail that “the investigation is still active. We are still following up leads, and we do have some things that are pertinent to the investigation.”
You’d think the fact that one man with a gun taking on three men who were also likely armed would be a big deal. As a matter of fact you’d think the news outlets would be incentivized to point out the fact that armed citizens are protecting other citizens so that it would possibly deter criminals from engaging in these types of criminal activities.
One customer at the shopping center, which has over 45 stores and restaurants, told reporters that the incident was “really scary” and they “shop here all the time.”

It was just September when Memphis police located the body of abducted school teacher Eliza Fletcher after a long search.
The married mother of two did not have a Good Samaritan around to save her.
Without the presence of a courageous and armed law-abiding citizen, this incident also very likely has a tragic ending. Memphis is a city besieged by murders and other violent crimes, and no doubt this victim would simply be another statistic to be glanced at and scrolled on past.
Instead, she is doubtlessly thankful that a brave man with a gun came to her rescue and prevented her from being kidnapped and who knows what else.
She can spend her new year with family and friends, something that almost certainly would not be possible without timely intervention.
That’s what the main-stream-media does not want you to know.
That’s what the Biden administration along with the new wave of “progressive” prosecutors ignore when they coddle criminals and attempt to deny 2nd Amendment rights to upstanding Americans.
It is easy to preach about safety and security when you have a Secret Service detail ready to take a bullet for you at a moment’s notice.
This fortunate young woman could have been entirely alone in that Memphis parking lot.
Police of course would have scoured for video evidence and witnesses, but very soon there would be another victim and yet another case to turn their attention to.
Instead, an armed citizen came to her defense and likely saved her life. That is why we have a 2nd Amendment, that it’s also why it is the duty of every patriotic American to stand and defend our precious constitutional freedoms.
