A male driver in Harris County, Texas, learned this lesson the hard way when he exhibited his lack of self-control against a woman in her vehicle.
It was about 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning when the two drivers had an apparent disagreement over some aspect of the other’s skills behind the wheel.
Instead of leaving it at that, investigators determined the man exited his vehicle and approached the woman’s car. He then reportedly struck her through the driver’s side window while she was still inside, escalating a simple incident into possibly a felony.
As the man had his hands on the female victim, she was able to retrieve a loaded firearm and get off a single shot. This got the attacker’s attention in a hurry, and he released her before retreating.
Fortunately for him, he was not struck.
Law enforcement quickly converged onto the scene, and the man was arrested on assault charges about an hour later. His identity or that of the woman who defended herself has not been released, and investigators are still collecting evidence on what led to the potentially tragic encounter.
Security video footage showed a hazy image of the man approaching her car before quickly retreating. He raced back to his vehicle and drove away before being apprehended.
It is almost certain that the female driver would have avoided the incident if given the opportunity. Still, that chance was ripped away when the male approached her vehicle and allegedly struck her.
She was armed and prepared, and when backed into a corner, she responded with what will likely be deemed as justified force.
