A mass murderer dressed as a police officer and driving a car resembling a police cruiser went house-to-house killing and burning at will.  The government has worked diligently to make self-defense nearly impossible there.

During a spree that started on Saturday night, a lone gunman killed 16 people in Nova Scotia, Canada.  The country already has draconian gun control laws, but this tragedy will no doubt be used as an excuse by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to further erode the strength of the citizen.  To him and other power-hungry politicians, there is no such thing as too much gun control.

The Associated Press reported, “It is now illegal to possess an unregistered handgun or any kind of rapid-fire weapon in Canada. The country also requires training, a personal risk assessment, two references, spousal notification and criminal record checks to purchase a weapon.”

Gun control in Canada has never been more restrictive than it is today and, therefore, fewer than ever have a chance to defend themselves from an armed killer.  With heavily armed officers in her neighborhood and helicopters in the air looking for the suspect, local resident Christine Mills said, “It’s nerve-wracking because you don’t know if somebody has lost their mind and is going to beat in your front door.”

As a Texan, I appreciate my freedom to guard my front door with my AR in any situation like this.  If a killer on the run decides my door is the next he will “beat in,” it will be his last.  I pity those around the world who have been rendered helpless by their governments.  The same cannot be allowed to happen here – ever.
