When an alleged intruder broke into a West Palm Beach, Florida home, little did he know that it would be the last thing he ever did.
Around 4 am on the morning of February 12th, the intruder broke into the home via a bedroom window and turned on a light, not expecting the room to be occupied at the time.
A verbal altercation expectedly ensued, that quickly escalated causing the homeowner to grab his gun and fire at the intruder, WPTV 5 reports.
The wounded offender was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The homeowners were not harmed in the encounter.
According to an interview given to 850 WFTL, the sleeping couple did not know the intruder.
A neighbor also tells WPTV that the neighborhood is pretty quiet and they have not experienced a random break in like this ever before. No identities have been released and police state that this is an ongoing investigation.
