are expensive. I’ve always been enamored by the company’s reputation for making unbreakable optics with alien-like battery lives. However, we are talking about a red dot on a piece of glass, so it’s hard for some people to quantify why something so simple can demand such a high price.
When I learned that Aimpoint was coming out with a more affordable red dot optic, I got excited, then I sobered up a bit and thought, wait, affordable for whom? According to Porsche, the Boxter is the “affordable” Porsche, and it is, if you’re Oprah’s unborn son. Either way, the excitement built up as I waited for the Aimpoint ACO Advanced Carbine Optic to arrive, and then it did.
