Just before 6 a.m., Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews were called to fight fires at two mobile homes. Ahead of the firefighters came an investigator who happened to be nearby to assess the incident.
For reasons unknown, the official quickly ran into trouble.
The investigator was allegedly confronted and threatened by an unidentified individual at the scene, and the escalating situation meant that firefighters did not immediately address the blaze due to the alleged attacker.
