When 15 year old Ava Majury began uploading her lip sync videos to the popular social media platform TikTok, she never expected to gain an obsessed stalker, but that is exactly what happened when 18 year old Eric Rohan Johnson began flooding her with messages.

Johnson evolved from messages to buying selfies from Majury to asking for explicit photos. This is when Majury’s father Rob, a retired police officer, stepped in. “I had an opportunity to text this person and say, ‘Hey, she’s a minor and you need to not contact her anymore,” Mr. Majury told NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez in an emotional interview.

Johnson refused to take no for an answer, going so far as showing up at the Majury’s Naples, Florida home with a shotgun.

Upon arriving at the door, Johnson fired shots through the front door. “Somebody had attempted to breach the door with I presume, the shotgun,” Rob Majury recalls.

“All I remember was, I heard it, I felt it in my chest, and I looked up, and there was a hole in my door from the fragments,” Ava said.

While Ava’s mother dialed 911, Rob Majury attempted to chase Johnson, but fell as Johnson fled.

Rob Majury grabbed his gun as he waited for the police to respond. Before the police could arrive, Johnson returned with the shotgun.

According to Rob, Johnson refused to put the shotgun down. “At that point, I took action and neutralized the treat,” Rob said.

Since the home invasion, the Majury family has moved and Ava has begun homeschooling. “Everything has changed,” her mother told NBC. In a heavily redacted report, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office told NBC that the case is an “Ongoing investigation.”
