Just days away from what some tout as the most important midterm elections in recent memory, a flood of new cash fills the coffers of opponents of Second Amendment rights.
A new Federal Election Commission (FEC) report for October revealed that anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg recently bestowed a staggering $22 million on his pet cause. That’s Everytown for Gun Safety’s Super PAC.

If the coming days bring a surge in messaging targeting the right to keep and bear arms, that shouldn’t surprise anyone.
The receipt’s in; it’s bought and paid for.
Everytown is former New York City Mayor Bloomberg’s sprawling effort to whittle the Second Amendment right out of existence. Its new cash infusion tips the scales even further against gun supporters, who were being outspent 3-to-1 before this latest political endowment was announced.
That was not always the case in national fundraising, but forces that would go door-to-door and confiscate your firearms are not even hiding anymore. And wealthy benefactors back them, who know messaging requires deep troughs of cash.
In 2026 America, Everytown already pledged $9 million for state-level digital ads to tear down a constitutional right and another $10 million for congressional contests.
That’s before the barrels of cash that just rolled in.
Gun rights supporters must educate themselves on candidates
Most voters don’t make their choices on a single issue, but the continued free exercise of the right to keep and bear arms matters to many upstanding Americans. They know the Founding Fathers feared tyranny above all and sought to ensure future generations could defend themselves.
The once powerful and still influential gun lobby took some hits in recent years, and too many leaders in Washington say one thing and do another. To make matters worse, they are bankrolled by those who admit to wanting to tear down Second Amendment freedoms.
Defending those fundamental liberties must start at the grassroots. The opposition certainly did not.
