Expert: Armed Citizens Stop Over 1/3 of ‘Active Shooter Incidents’

Anti-Second Amendment mouthpieces like to spout FBI “data” claiming that lawfully armed Americans stopped 3.9% of “active shooter incidents” ranging from 2014 through 2025.

That’s not a paltry number, certainly if you’re involved in one of the 3.9%, but is it accurate?

Many more good guys with guns stop violent crime than reported

No, according to a new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC). Organization President John Lott, a leading expert on self-defensive gun use in the U.S., reported that over one-third of all such incidents did not end with law enforcement engagement but with private Americans exercising their right to keep and bear arms.

It is important to note that this period began with a notoriously strong proponent of gun control in the White House. FBI numbers supposedly tracked to inform Americans about such attacks are woefully inaccurate, according to Lott.

He explained that FBI reports regularly omitted or misclassified numerous shooter incidents in the 11 years.

Lott’s group went to great pains to weed out confrontations that didn’t measure up and still counted hundreds more than the FBI. He said he was motivated to correct the widely held misconception after the Associated Press opened an account of the recent Oregon elementary school shooting in which an armed father put down the attacker with a blatant lie.

Mainstream media wants Oregon heroism seen as anomaly

The AP wrote, “Few mass shootings in the U.S. end like the deadly attack on an Oregon elementary school: with an armed civilian opening fire on the gunman.”

The casual reader would accept the opening statement with nary a question, which is why it is critically important that the truth is recognized and restated. Anti-gunners in the media are accustomed to having half-truths and outright lies about firearm-related issues blindly accepted as the gospel truth.

That has to change.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
